Well, our guest today is Kim Crabill. Kim, thank you for joining us on the Covenant Eyes podcast. Absolutely. Thanks for inviting me. What are you doing? I love meeting you. So thank you. Well, good looking forward to this conversation. Kim, could you just start and just tell us a little bit about your story, your background and really what led you to to your life and ministry? Really? Well, it's because I felt like a very broken woman. I had some things happen to me as a young child. I was basically I was taken from one home to another. And so it was very disturbing. I didn't understand it at the age of four, but rather I had a grandfather that I was with as first four years. And during that time, he was very intentional in putting God's word in me as a four-year-old can do. Yeah. And he would say, now, Kim, always remember, Jesus loves you. No matter where you go, Jesus loves you. If I can't go with you. Jesus will be there with you. So that was really those seeds that he planted. Took me through a lot of difficult years and times through early elementary age, you know, into high school, into college. And I was always running from the fact that I had been broken and I didn't know what to do with it. But I also had the truth that Jesus was with me. And so I finally got to a point after a lot of different things happened in my life where I came to a point, Rob, where, you know, with women, if they don't know what to do, they start to do everything. And when we don't know who we are, we try to please everyone, which is impossible. And I remember finally getting to a place where I was sitting in my car crying, and I was going, okay, Lord, I'm okay, I'm okay. I was telling everybody. Am I. Trying to convince yourself. Trying to talk to him? I said, but I heard God so vividly say to me, Kim, you are not okay, but you can be. And so that's when I really began trusting him and allowing him to lead me into a place where I'm still on and being okay. But so I take what he gave me and I try to give it out to others. And that's really my ministry. Oh that's excellent. Well, the main ministry you're doing now is Roses and Rainbows. Is that correct? Yes. When I had a reconciliation with my mom, which was really where my misdirected anger was, I'm a Christian counselor now. I went back to went back to school to try to figure out myself. But I realized that my misdirected anger toward my mom had been since I was a little girl. Yeah. And so one of the things that God said to me when he said, you can't be okay was to start to forgive. And so it took a couple of years for me. I had a very hard and heart. No one would have seen it, but the first thing I did was I sent roses to my mom on Valentine's Day of 1992. Had no idea that one week later, she at the age of 51, she would be diagnosed with cancer at the age of 51. Nine weeks later, she died. And so after her funeral, there was a most incredible rainbow. And so her last words to me were, don't live like I'm dying. In other words, be who God wants you to be. Don't let anything stop you. And so after that, when I began to invite women in to help me figure out who I was and what I was supposed to be doing, we grew. Women were like, outgrew my home. And I went to my pastor. I said, what do we do? And he said, well, let's let's have a conference or something. And he said, but you need a name. So I named it Roses and Rainbows after my mom and her story. Yeah. Oh that's beautiful. Beautiful. Well, can you tell us a little bit more about what Roses and Rainbow is doing and helping women? Well, thank you for asking. There's a lot of different components, quite honestly. But, you know, God has given, you know, allowed me to write several books. We have a TV show, you know, so there are a lot of outlets that we try to reach people. But the main message of all of this was when God said, you know, you're you're not okay, but you can be. I just broken, I didn't show me. And I began this personal journey with him. It started with Matthew
11:26. Come to me, those who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest. And in that burden you know we know what burdens burden means. Rest means reversal and burden in the Greek means a task in waiting. And I felt like I was saying, if you will do it my way, these hurts of your heart can open up into a ministry. So I started documenting everything that God was shown me, which is now a curriculum that I use around the world as a as a steps of biblical healing your heart so that you can be free to use what you've been through. So that's that's my passion. That's what I love. You know, seeing God's work in the hearts of those who have been hurt, who have been broken, who maybe made mistakes that they wish that if they could go back, they would change it. But to realize that God doesn't condemn us, he's just trying to change us and to form us more into his image. And he wants to use all that. Yeah. So that's that's my heartbeat. Okay. Now you've written, what, seven books? I have seven books with Broad Street, but altogether I had 26 books. No kidding. I've done a lot of work, books and a lot of things. And you know what? It wasn't intentional, Rob. It was just like a woman who attended me and say, well, I need something on my marriage or I need something on, you know, my latest one is Spiritual Detox, you know, and so I try to write according to what I see in the needs of these Burdens of Blessings Conferences. Yeah. So, Burden...Burden to Blessings is one of your books. And that's. My first. That was your first that started all the curriculum and everything. That's that's that journey that that book is really lifted from my personal journey, you know, my journal of what God walked me through. And that was 30 years ago, you know, that he started that journey. And I wrote the book, I guess, about 17 years ago, but we're still using it. We use it, you know, in prisons. We use it in churches, we use it in rehabs. I use it with NFL players lives. Doesn't matter who you are. You've got hurts that God wants to heal. Yeah. And turn it into our own voice of hope. Yeah, yeah. I'm wonderful. That's great. Now, you mentioned you. You're working on a couple of new books. Can you share any of that yet? Yes. Well, actually, the two that I've just actually just recently released and what is called Always Remember and that goes all the way back to my grandfather when he was, when I was, you know, four year old had this first four years with him and he would say this to me, Rob. He'd say, Kim, Jesus loves you and I need you to always remember that, right? Yeah. And, you know, so everything he would say, it was like an exclamation mark, you know, to help me, kind of embedded in my mind. He knew. I think he knew if if he could put God's word into my heart, it would be alive and active and it would work for me. It worked. It did. So here I am, this many years later. I'm not going to tell you how many years later. Yeah, but you talk about that. But I, I started thinking, I bet there are a lot of people who have always remembers. And so I started asking for. And so we put together a devotional, 45 friends of myself of things, it's a daily devotional, of things that are important for us to always remember, and it's really a way for us to speak God's Word into the next generations. I think at Psalm 145 four or verse five, it says, we are to to speak of his mighty works, speaking into the next generation. So it's a book that started with my grandfather that I have tried to, you know, that I've been trying to learn. And then I dedicated it to my granddaughter. So it's very, very important to me that that's. And then the second one is the Spiritual Detox I was talking about. And that was my husband fell from a ladder and he had a lot of rehab to do. And I will tell you, the first couple of weeks I was so good, I was doing everything. And then after a couple of weeks I was like, I'm not sure I like this, you know? It's like I would catch myself just, you know, not being rude but clipping, you know. Like, yeah. And I felt God condemned me. He said, no, he did not condemn me. He did. Yeah. That's convicting me. That's what I meant. To say. He began to convict me. And so I went to my husband and I said, I'm sorry if he goes, oh my goodness. You know, they didn't even know this. But then I went back to God and God said, no, this is not normal. These are the little foxes that are going to ruin your anointing. And so I began again, realizing that God says, you know, if you take all of these things away from you, you'll be prepared. My every good work. So I wrote a five chapter workbook on how to spiritually cleanse ourselves. And so and so. That was very selfish. I needed it myself. It's good. Good word though. We need that. Yeah, it is, because it is the little. Things it does and they add up to. And we just farther, farther away all we get. Other people start to justify our sins. Yeah. But we go to Jesus and he goes, no, no, no no no no no. Oh that's excellent. Well, Kim, tell me to you mentioned you are a certified Christian counselor. Why? And how did you get into that? And what do you do with that? You know, I realized that I wanted to really be able to help, and I wanted to be able to do it, you know, according to God's word. And and I wanted to be had that certification just because with my books and with the TV show, I just felt like it was important for me. I wanted to learn, you know, I wanted to do that. And so so that's I don't I did some private practice for a while, but, you know, the laws have gotten so stiff and so and I thought, no, I just used that in my, in our work, in our ministry. That's excellent. That's excellent. Well, good. Well can we have so many listeners that are struggling with so many things that that we deal with and hear about and talk about? If you had just a word to give to those that might be listening today that are really just struggling with something. What would that word be? Well, I would say you're not alone. Number one, the enemy wants us to feel like we're the only one according to statistics. And I think this is a low number. But according to statistics, 80% of the people in our churches today are hiding something. A heart of pain, a brokenness. And they're so afraid that it's going to be found out because they feel like they'll be judged, criticized and left out. And that's a sad shame. So what I would say is you're not alone. You know, God knows he's not condemning. He he wants you to understand. Come to him. You know, come to him. He really can transform. But I would say, you know, try to find one person that you can that you can talk to because the healing process is not going to start until you speak. That hurt. Yeah. And when you speak it in someone, you'll be surprised. You're expecting a condemnation, but you're going to get comfort and love from that person. So we have to break that. Yes, we have to break that that lie that we're not going to. And that's what I do with every one of our conferences. We're going to Florida this week. There'll be hundreds of ladies there. And we'll be talking about breaking those chains of shame, guilt and regret to live the life that Christ died for us to live. When he died, he said, you are free now. Go live that life of freedom. Yeah. So I would just say you're not alone. We've all fallen short of the glory of God. He loves us unconditionally. And he's waiting in our hearts, in our pains, in our mistakes, to to heal us. He's waiting there for us. Longing for that healing. Oh, absolutely. We talked with so many people that are really struggling and hurting, and we find so many people are there. They're waiting. They're wanting to get right before they go to God and take it to God. But God wants to step right in the middle of that mess, doesn't he? And really just walk us out of it. That's the way I was. I was thinking, okay, if I learn enough scripture, if I clean up my life enough, if I did, you know, and that and I thought, I thought, then I'm going to go out and say, today. I'm gonna. Be here. Yeah, but God says, no, that's not the way you you. He did not create us to be alone. You know, he says it's not good for man to be alone. And I know that's marital, but it's also relational, right? And so he said that even before anyone had ever seen. That was the first thing he said about us. So for us to understand that we're not alone and that people will accept us. And you really can't take that journey alone. You know, you really can't. God is with you. But he's created us as people. And and it really comes to just trusting someone and just, you know, and having coffee with them, having a conversation like we are, you know, the person you talk to will feel honored that you chose them and trusted them. I do believe that. Yeah, I think so. Definitely, because it's a long way. Well, good. Well, can you guys do seminars around? We get...They’re called Burdens to Blessings. Discover the power of your story. Okay. And I walk them through. We're in Florida this coming weekend. We're in West Virginia the next weekend. Yeah. I love. I mean, there's no place I won't go. Yeah, I love it because we're all hurting somewhere. And so this and we we have a very interactive conference where people get involved and we do some incredible things. And so we always see God at work. Oh. I always he got it. Work. Yeah. And you know, when, when some of the people will walk up to me and say, I've been holding on to this for 30 years, I've had one woman say, I've been holding on to this for 47 years. That's a long time to hold on to something that Jesus died for you to walk. Away from. The enemy has us so convinced that God is going to smack us. And you know, the world is it's just it's just lies. It is. It is. Absolutely. Well, that's got that has to be very rewarding to see those people come forward and just yes, let some of that those burdens go. It is the best thing. Other than being a grandma. Yeah. I know it's it's just so amazing to see what God can do in a short amount of time. Yeah. You know, and, and we, we have these ways that they can, share their burden without anyone knowing is theirs. Yeah. So that they can see how other people respond to it. And then that gives them the freedom to say before long. Yeah, well, that one was mine. Yeah. And because they understand they're going to be loved on and accepted and someone's going to walk with them to their healing. That's that's so true. We see that so much with the the pornography issue once somebody shares. I've had this burden. Here's what I've done, what God has done. And all of a sudden the floodgates open in. People just start sharing, releasing that. And that's what it takes. Yes, really. That's really what it takes. One person being bold enough to say, this is what this. This is my heart. This is my sin or this is my addiction. And then all of a sudden people go, oh my gosh, you too. Yeah. You know. In that freedom. It's an immediate connection. And and that's, that's what the body of Christ really needs. That's that's the healing I think we need. Yeah, I think we're are so stressing out. The people in our churches working, working, working. And I think that we need to heal and then let them work from that healing. Yeah. You know. So and we but we need connection to do that. That's that's the key. You have to start a conversation. That's why my, my show is called coffee. Coffee stands for conversations of friends of faith to encourage and equip. Oh. That's wonderful. Oh. God, I can't tell you. I can't take the credit for that. No, no, no, that's that's great. Well, Kim, where would our listeners connect with you and find out more about your ministries, your books, all of that? Sure. They can just go to KimCrabill.org. Kim, I made it really, really easy. For a long time, we were using the ministry name Roses and Rainbows, and nobody can remember that. If you don't know the story. So we just switched it to KimCrabill.org so you can go there. You know, we I think we might be booked for most of this year, but I do the, the day conferences. I do, you know, smaller you know, speaking engagements. But my heart is always about, you know, that inner discovering the power of your story, what God has. You know, maybe what the enemy meant for evil. God means for good. And always say, if it's not good, God's not finished, right? Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Great. Well, we'll put that in the show notes. And so for our listeners will be able to find that and find that information. Kim, thank you so much for joining us. I love your spirit. I love the work you're doing. And Spirit of God is just just around you. So thank you for what you do. Thank you. Thank you so much. And thank you for what you're doing. Yeah. Thank you. It's all of us together, right? It is. With every listener. Has a part in what God wants to do. Yeah, and that's what we want them to know. So thank you so much. Thanks for joining us. To our listeners, thank you for joining us. Stay tuned for the next episode of Covenant Eyes Podcast.
